Maggi diet

This diet is strict, so you don't have to do additional calorie calculations or create a customized nutrition plan based on specific recommendations. Just follow the agreed menu day after day and watch the pleasant changes in your body.

The Maggi diet is often confused with the usual bouillon diet, apparently because of the name. However, the basis of the diet that we will consider in this article is not broth, but eggs and grapefruit.

Origins of nutrition

the essence of the Maggi diet for weight loss

The name "Maggi" is the result of an incorrect transmission of the word sound. In the original version she is called "Maggie", which is the diminutive of the name Margaret. Rumor has it that this diet owes its appearance to Margaret Thatcher. According to the popular version, the original weekly version of this diet was specially developed for Thatcher at the famous Mayo Clinic.

Although it is not known whether the legendary Prime Minister resorted to this method of losing weight, diet is still strongly associated with this woman, even after specific changes to the original version. According to rumors, the sheet describing the technique was kept in the papers of Iron Maggie for many years.

General principles

Maggi's diet is designed for 4 weeks, during which some of her fans were able to lose up to 10-12 kg. The food composition is not poor and contains a sufficient amount of meat, vegetables, fruits, etc. Thanks to such a variety of diets, those who follow this diet do not have serious complaints. In addition, you can eat full from the menu to avoid loss of performance, lethargy, and fatigue.

However, this system enforces strict compliance down to the smallest detail. The diet rules are as follows:

  • It is necessary to strictly adhere to the meal plan, the order of meals and their quantity.
  • If no part of the product is specified in the diet, then you can eat it indefinitely.
  • It is not acceptable to replace products even if the replacement appears to be equivalent.
  • If the diet clearly dictates the amount of a product, you have to eat it even if you don't want to. You can reduce the portion of the dish by reducing the amount of products that are not precisely specified.
  • An interruption in the diet is also considered a deviation from the recommended diet for half a day. If you get out of control, the diet cannot pick up where you left off. We have to start over;
  • In order to be able to follow the recommendations exactly, it is better to prepare food 1-2 days in advance and store it in portions in separate containers in the refrigerator. In this case, you just need to open the refrigerator and take the box you want.
  • Drinking liquids are important. You don't need to drink 2 liters of clean non-carbonated drinking water a day.
  • In addition to water, you can also drink tea and coffee without sugar or milk. These drinks are not taken into account when calculating the liquid consumed. For sweetening, you can use a sweetener with a calorie content of 0 kcal. You are allowed to drink non-alcoholic diet drinks without calories.
  • Salt and other spices are allowed. However, one must try not to use too much salt;
  • A sample menu of the Maggi diet for 4 weeks
  • When preparing food, preference should be given to cooking, steaming and baking without oil.
  • Sugar, saturated fats, oils, mayonnaise, meat and fish broths and all types of alcohol are completely excluded from the diet.
  • At least moderate physical activity is recommended. If your heart isn't in the gym, walk at an active pace for at least an hour a day.

Grapefruit and eggs are staples for the Maggi diet.
